Eligibility
- Gender: Open to women only.
- Citizenship: Applicants must be non-U.S. citizens or non-permanent residents.
- Academic Level: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and be applying for full-time graduate or postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required. Applicants may need to provide proof of English proficiency through tests like TOEFL or IELTS.
- Commitment: Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to returning to their home countries after completing their studies to contribute to community development or professional sectors.
Application Procedure
- Online Application: The application must be completed online through the AAUW website.
- Proposal Submission: Applicants are required to submit a detailed academic proposal, outlining their research objectives or study plans.
- Letters of Recommendation: Three recommendations from academic or professional contacts are required.
- Proof of Admission: Applicants must submit proof of admission to an accredited U.S. institution for the academic year they are applying for the fellowship.
- Financial Information: Applicants must demonstrate financial need by providing details about income, funding sources, and anticipated expenses.
