The American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship (AUEGL) 2025 is a prestigious award designed to support international students pursuing undergraduate studies in the United States. Benefits

The scholarship covers all billable American University expenses (full tuition, room, and board) for one international student needing a visa (preferably an F-1 or J-1 student visa) to study in the United States. The scholarship does not cover non-billable expenses, such as mandatory health insurance, books, airline tickets, and other miscellaneous costs. It is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study, based on continued satisfactory academic performance.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • International students who have overcome various obstacles and challenges as well as those from diverse and underrepresented global and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • A minimum 3.8 GPA (or equivalent) out of 4.0.
  • A demonstrated commitment to leadership, volunteering, community service, and advancing the needs of people in their home country.
  • Students whose parents are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • Students who have a demonstrated financial need.
  • Proficiency in English, as evidenced by a TOEFL iBT score of 95 or higher, an IELTS score of 7.0 or higher, or similar standardized test scores.

Application Procedure

The application process for the AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship involves several steps:

  • Application for Admission: Applicants must apply and be accepted to American University as an undergraduate student. This involves completing the Common Application and submitting all required documents by the scholarship deadline.
  • Submission of the Scholarship Application: Interested students must submit the AU EGL scholarship application, along with all supporting documents, by the specified deadline.
